Kensington
Best known for excellent antique shopping, Kensington is a gem. The small-town feel is priceless: the mayor even gives you a gift when you move in! This family friendly spot packs its calendar with parades, races, picnics, concerts and theater. Kensington takes its mature trees and landscaped gardens seriously (they are protected by a town ordinance), so it’s easy to find a beautiful, shady spot to picnic or just relax. You will find a rich city history here, as well as straightforward access to DC, Annapolis and Baltimore.
Parkwood
The residents of this Kensington neighborhood extol its strong sense of community and describe a kid-friendly place to call home. The local public elementary school, Kensington Parkwood, was recently rebuilt, and those who live here also love the quick access to Bethesda and Rockville. The proximity to upscale White Flint Mall is appreciated, as are the beautiful and mature landscaping and the traditional architecture.
